You are currently working on a soundtrack for selected Emily Dickinson poems. With that in mind, if asked to choose a song to describe your life right now, which song would you select and why?

 Prompt Response: If I had to choose a song to describe my life right now, I would pick Eye of the Tiger because I'm really locked in right now. I have lots of extracurricular activities, such as workouts and practices for baseball and rec soccer. When I hear Eye of the Tiger, I think of Rocky and how it was his training montage song. This song gets me pumped up and locked in.


Summary: In class today, we took a quiz where we analyzed a few different poems, and then we finished the Emily Dickinson quotes.


Reflection: I think having lots of motivation is a good thing, and can lead me to improve my life.

After reading “Out, Out—” by Robert Frost, reflect on a time when you faced a dangerous or high-pressure situation that demanded your complete focus. What made the situation risky, and how did your concentration affect the outcome?

 Prompt Response: A few days ago, I was in a car crash. It wasn't my fault, but if I hadn't been paying attention, it would have been much worse. I was driving down Shallowford Road when a lady turned in front of me. I slammed on my brakes, but couldn't stop in time and ended up hitting her car. If I hadn't been paying attention and hadn't slowed, there could have been serious injury to both me and her. Summary: In class, we began working in writable. Reflection: Situations like this can be very scary, and I'm glad that I made it out uninjured.
