It’s Homecoming Week! 🎉 What do you love most about being part of the Lakeside community? How do you show off your school spirit? What is your favorite Homecoming tradition or event?

 Prompt Response: The thing I love most about being part of the Lakeside community is its proximity to my house. It is just a 5-minute drive away, so I can sleep late. I show off my school spirit by wearing Lakeside brand apparel to school sometimes, especially when it's free. My favorite Homecoming tradition was going to the elementary school for football. We let the kids out of their cars, then went inside and read a book. I got to see all of my teachers from back then, like in kindergarten.


Summary: In class, we took a quiz on the Lawrence Ferlinghetti poem. We then worked on our poem posters.


Reflection: Lakeside doesn't have many long-standing, well-known traditions, so I couldn't think of much. I wish we did, though.

After reading “Out, Out—” by Robert Frost, reflect on a time when you faced a dangerous or high-pressure situation that demanded your complete focus. What made the situation risky, and how did your concentration affect the outcome?

 Prompt Response: A few days ago, I was in a car crash. It wasn't my fault, but if I hadn't been paying attention, it would have been much worse. I was driving down Shallowford Road when a lady turned in front of me. I slammed on my brakes, but couldn't stop in time and ended up hitting her car. If I hadn't been paying attention and hadn't slowed, there could have been serious injury to both me and her. Summary: In class, we began working in writable. Reflection: Situations like this can be very scary, and I'm glad that I made it out uninjured.
