In “The Interlopers” by Saki, Ulrich and Georg view each other as interlopers, outsiders intruding on their land and their lives. Think about a time when you felt like an interloper or when someone else felt out of place in your world. How did that situation affect relationships, emotions, or outcomes?

Prompt Response: One time, I felt like this was when someone new joined the baseball team. The same group of kids and I had been playing together from 7U to 10U, and then a new kid named Aidan joined the team. He was pretty good, but no one knew him. As we got to know each other, we became friends, and he ended up being one of my best friends on the team.

Summary: In class, there was a sub, so we just did "The Interlopers" story on CommonLit.

Reflection: Meeting new people can be a good thing, because you could become good friends.
